Prayer for Today, Monday, November 1

Eternal Presence,

We rejoice in your love and are overwhelmed by your grace. We pray you will touch our hearts this day, giving us strength for the journey. Please forgive us when we miss the mark, O God, and guide us to the path that leads to you and to service to others. This is our prayer in Jesus name, AMEN.

I received the following email form Scott Chuda, the young Navy pilot who attended our 8:00 a.m. chapel service:

John,
Just wanted to write you a quick note to say hello. I still receive the daily emails and love the prayers you have written. Its a great way to start the day.
I started my jet training on the 18th and have about another month before I will actually get into the jet, the wait is making me wicked anxious.

I also received a text message from Lavonna Hopkins. Her father , Sam Wade, had a heart attack and will be having a heart cath procedure in OKC. Please pray for Sam Wade.

Please pray for the family of Twyla Tefft, Scott's Tefft's mother. She died saturday. Her funeral will likely be on Wednesday.

Valerie Driscoll is hospitalized at Bass Hospital. Richard Cook (Bob Park’s son-in-law) is also at Bass. Joan Petersen and Carrol Miller (Kyle miller’s father) are at St. Mary’s. Please pray for our hospitalized.

Ken Ball is going to have eye surgery tomorrow morning at the Surgery Center.

“Trunk or Treat” was an outstanding success. Thanks to Sally, John and the others who put it together. And also thanks to everyone who provided the vehicle trunks and candy. Yesterday Central Christian Church had a very positive impact on our neighborhood.
