O God,
Our hearts yearn for you. There is a place in us only you can fill. Dear Lord, deep within us we know Your love flows over us like a warm, gentle rain, but, because we bury our yearning and mask our need of you, we wear our slickers and get out our umbrellas. We are afraid of Your love, because once accepted, we are changed, everything is different. Forgive us, we pray. May we be courageous. May we be bold. Help us to strip away those ways we shield ourselves from you. May we dance in your transforming grace and be soaked in the power of your Spirit with us. In Jesus name, AMEN.
