O God Who Loves Us Wastefully,
We thank you for the beauty and power of this season. Your unconditional love was made known in its perfection in Jesus the Christ. As we gather with friends and family tonight and tomorrow may our celebration of Christmas bring joy, hope, love and peace to those around us. In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.

Advent Devotion for Today. Please read Luke 2:8-14:
From that very first announcement of his birth - Jesus wanted to show the world he was coming to be the Savior for all no matter the current state of our being. The Angel did not appear to the shepherds and say " Today in the town of David a Savior has been born for all those who have their act together. You guys run on home now and when you get yourselves all cleaned up, get all your affairs in order, and make yourselves presentable then we will tell you where you can find this Savior - Christ the Lord." No they said "... Today ... a Savior has been born TO YOU . . . and here is where you can find him now. . ."
The Multitude of Angels did not first appear to the priests and Levites and those considered righteous. They did not reserve their Glory for the tabernacles on the night of Christ's birth. God sent his Angels - out into the fields where the lowly citizens were with the message for ALL people. He was born in a stable, a place where shepherds would have been very comfortable visiting. He was not born in some fancy palace where a dirty, stinky shepherd would never have been allowed to enter. No - from that very first proclamation of Christ's birth he told each one of us - I come for you.
