O Loving and Gracious God,
Your history with humankind is one of continually reaching out, continually seeking to commune with Your creation. During this Advent season we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus who became the Christ. He embodied Your ultimate act of reconciliation with humanity. Help us to understand, O God, that You are with us, we have but to turn into Your embrace. Help us to understand, O God, that your love abounds and we experience Your love as we love others. In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.

Barbara Whinery’s surgery went very well. The surgeon was very positive in his assessment. Barbara and Bret will likely come back to Enid today. Please continue to pray for the Whinerys.
Shera Shirley is recovering after her heart bypass surgery. I saw her yesterday. She was alert, sitting up and very communicative. Please continue to pray for Shera.
Maribel Moore saw her surgeon in OKC yesterday. She will go back to the Oklahoma Heart Hospital to have surgery next Tuesday to repair the wound on her leg from her last surgery. Likely she will be there on IV antibiotics until Sunday the 12th. She certainly appreciates the church’s concern and prayers.
Gene Britnall was to have surgery yesterday at the Mayo Clinic. We haven’t received word on who Gene is doing.
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
Advent Devotion for Today. Please read Matthew 9:27-31
When I read this scripture, I think to myself, Am I blind? Do I see what the Lord is trying to show me? Sometimes the answer is Yes, I am blind. I need to really see what God is trying to tell me. You can’t wait for God to come and just outright tell you what He expects, you must search for it. You must pray, and ask Jesus for the understanding of what life is throwing at you. If life is giving you sadness and grief, you must ask God if it is leading you up to something big and inspiring! There is the famous quote, “It will be okay in the end.” One of my band directors added some inspiring words to that quote, “It will be okay in the end, if it is not okay, then it is not the end.” Now, Are you blind? Do you see what the Lord is trying to show you? Will it be okay for you in the end?
Prayer:
Dear Father God, please help us all see what our lives have in store for us. We ask you to heal us if we are blind, and open our eyes if we cannot see. God, give us good health and a prosperous life.
In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.
Nikki Powell
