Prayer for Today, Wednesday, December 1

O God of Wonder,

Here we are in the month of December. It is cold outside and the days continue to be shorter. For many, O Lord, this is a wonderful and amazing time. For others it is a time of despair and grief. Empower us, Dear God, to reflect Your warmth and light to those around us. May our hearts be open and may we seek to share your love. In Jesus name, AMEN.

I received the following email from “Fig” Newton:
John,
We finally got an appointment at the OU Medical center for Barb. It is at 1:15 on the 13th of December. She will have an evaluation and a decision will be made on that day of any further treatments.

Gene Brintnall is at the Mayo Clinic for test today and surgery tomorrow. Please pray for Gene and his son, Doug, who is with him.

Today our Disciples Women have their regular meetings and luncheon.

Tonight our children from 3 years old to 5th grade will meet in the Fellowship Hall for a Christmas Program rehearsal.
