Prayer for Today, Friday, March 18

Lord of Life,

You are our God and we are Your people. Grant us, we pray, an understanding of Your abundant mercy. In the midst of our shortcomings and sin, You are gracious to us and You invite us to live with the light of the Christ in our hearts. We can’t transform ourselves, O Lord, but we can turn in to Your embrace, raise our faces to You and surrender all to Your love. Strengthen our resolve, Loving Lord, to allow You to mold us. You are the potter. We are the clay. In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.

Charlie Heller is recovering from quadruple by-pass surgery in the Heart Hospital in OKC. Please continue to pray for Charlie and Judi.

Richard Cook (Bob Parks son-in-law) is our only person hospitalized in Enid. Please continue to pray for Richard.

Today is Madge Loomis’ birthday. May we all continue to life her up in prayer.

The Church Board meets next Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Committee chairs need to send your minutes and reports to the church office as soon as possible so we can publish the information for the meeting.

This is not a joy or a concern, but it is an opportunity. Mickie Giberson sent the following email:

FYI - The first ballot for Reader's Choice came out in the Enid News this morning. The committee who is doing the church publicity might want to ask the congregation to either 1) submit their ballots (there are usually 6) or 2) bring them to the church for submission.

Submission deadline is April 8.

Get your ballots and vote for Central Christian Church!

The scripture reading for today is Deuteronomy 30:15-20:
See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, death and adversity. If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I am commanding you today, by loving the LORD your God, walking in his ways, and observing his commandments, decrees, and ordinances, then you shall live and become numerous, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to possess. But if your heart turns away and you do not hear, but are led astray to bow down to other gods and serve them, I declare to you today that you shall perish; you shall not live long in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess. I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, loving the LORD your God, obeying him, and holding fast to him; for that means life to you and length of days, so that you may live in the land that the LORD swore to give to your ancestors, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

Grace and peace,

John McLemore
