O Gracious Redeemer,
May we approach You this day with a childlike sense of awe and wonder. The miracles of life continue to amaze us. Forgive us, Dear Lord, when we fail to see beauty all around us. Forgive us, Loving God, when we become jaded and short sighted. Expand our vistas, we pray. May we look through today, beyond tomorrow and see the glory of eternity. In Jesus name we pray, AMEN.

I received the following email from Sherry Garrett:
Please tell the prayer group to keep up the good work! Kim Keithly Jones had a good report this time, so I believe the prayers and this new treatment seems to be having positive effects at last! Do keep her on the prayer list, and know that it SEEMS to be making a miracle happen! Sherry Garrett
Shera Shirley was dismissed from St. Mary’s Hospital yesterday. Inez Fisher is improving at Bass.
A number of our youth are in the Gaslight Teen Theater production of “Once Upon A Mattress”. I hear wonderful reviews from last night. Carolyn and I are going this evening and the youth group is going tomorrow.
Our Young Adult/Seekers group is going to Moore today to the Warren Theater for a movie experience.
All are invited to the Multi-Purpose Room at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow for lesson number two of “24 Hours that Changed the World”. Jack Weston is teaching and there was a good response last week.
Speaking of Sunday School…. Tomorrow all classes are asked to shorten their lessons and join the Revive and Renew group in the Loggia for a Celebration Brunch at 9:30 a.m. We are celebrating two years of the Revive and Renew service. You will remember we began on Sunday evenings and in November of 2009 moved to Sunday morning. There will be lots of food, so plan to attend.
The scripture reading for today is Deuteronomy 4:1-9:
So now, Israel, give heed to the statutes and ordinances that I am teaching you to observe, so that you may live to enter and occupy the land that the LORD, the God of your ancestors, is giving you. You must neither add anything to what I command you nor take away anything from it, but keep the commandments of the LORD your God with which I am charging you. You have seen for yourselves what the LORD did with regard to the Baal of Peor—how the LORD your God destroyed from among you everyone who followed the Baal of Peor, while those of you who held fast to the LORD your God are all alive today. See, just as the LORD my God has charged me, I now teach you statutes and ordinances for you to observe in the land that you are about to enter and occupy. You must observe them diligently, for this will show your wisdom and discernment to the peoples, who, when they hear all these statutes, will say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and discerning people!” For what other great nation has a god so near to it as the LORD our God is whenever we call to him? And what other great nation has statutes and ordinances as just as this entire law that I am setting before you today? But take care and watch yourselves closely, so as neither to forget the things that your eyes have seen nor to let them slip from your mind all the days of your life; make them known to your children and your children’s children—
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
