Prayer for Today, Thursday, April 7

O Lord,

We look around and see the assembly of family and friends who care for us and support us. We realize their care and love pales in comparison to what we receive from You. We are grateful, Loving God. Help us to realize there are those, perhaps near to us, who do not have the comfort and support of others. Life circumstances have caused separations, divisions and alienation. Empower us, Gracious God, to be agents of peace and reconciliation. Empower us, Divine Presence, to embody an element of Your grace that knows no separation. May we bridge the gaps that create loneliness and despair and may Your love flow through us. It is in Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN.

Imogene Price will have hip replacement surgery today. She is on “standby” status and they will work her in.

Barbara Whinery will have surgery today at Mercy Hospital in OKC at 12:30. Please pray for Imogene and Barbara.

Chuck Crites has had complications from his surgery. At first they thought it was a massive stroke. Now the doctors believe it is metabolic. He is in ICU at Bass Hospital. The family says he is showing improvement during each hourly visit.

I was told this morning that Austin Wade is in St. Mary’s hospital.

Willo Clark is continuing to improve.

Please pray for all our hospitalized.

I just received word that Madge Loomis is in a rapid decline. Please offer special prayers for Madge and her family today.

J. Curtis Huckleberry, Sally Wheeler and I recorded a Community Talk segment yesterday. If you have cable, watch Community Talk and let us know how we did.

Remember: we are voting on the logo this Sunday. There is a display in the Logia. Also remember: The All-Church Picture will be made on Palm Sunday after the choir cantata.

The scripture for today is Matthew 18:1-5:
At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”He called a child, whom he put among them, and said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

Grace and peace,

John McLemore
