Incarnate God,
We see You in the Person of Jesus Christ. We see Your image in humanity. We know You are present in all creation and we give You thanks. Some understand You in power and might. Others understand You in compassion and love. You are experienced as strength and vulnerability. You are known in actions of justice and of mercy. You meet us where we are. Bless us now, Loving God. Empower us to see others and the world through Your eyes so that we might act as Your agents of peace, reconciliation and hope. We pray in Jesus name, AMEN.

Bettie Linton’s funeral will be tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Please pray for her son, Scott, and all her family.
We are going to do a memorial service on Monday at 11:00 a.m. for Gaylene Squires in the chapel. Gaylene was Mae Clark’s daughter who lived in Virginia. Please continue to pray for all her family, many of whom are traveling from Virginia and Indiana. They will be taking her cremains to Georgetown, Texas for interment after the service.
WWNF is tonight beginning with the meal at 6:00 p.m. provided by the Boy Scouts. There will be a Bible Study on the Lord’s Prayer and an opportunity to do a service project assembling food packets for the Kids Against Hunger program. Obviously, there is something for all ages.
Please pray for our vacationers. We have a number of members who are travelling.
The scripture for today is Matthew 26:26-35:
While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will never again drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”When they had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Then Jesus said to them, “You will all become deserters because of me this night; for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered. ‘But after I am raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”Peter said to him, “Though all become deserters because of you, I will never desert you.”Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, this very night, before the cock crows, you will deny me three times.”Peter said to him, “Even though I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And so said all the disciples.
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
