God of Forgiveness and Understanding,
We seek the comfort and hope that comes from You. Despair invades our world. Doubt and fear are present. Uncertainty is a reality, yet in the midst of the darkest hours, You are there. When life seems empty, You are there. You forgive us, love us and call us by name. Your presence transforms the darkness into marvelous light, doubt into faith, despair into hope. Make us new creations in Christ, O Lord, so that we might share this amazing understanding with our fragmented world. In Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN.

Please continue to pray for Tim Simpson. His initial surgery was three weeks ago Monday. The nurses got him up yesterday, his blood pressure shot up, and he got an excruciating headache. Tim and Leah are nearing their limit. They need our support.
Our annual Ordination of Elders will occur tomorrow during the 10:15 a.m. sanctuary service.
Jeanette Heitfeld is being installed as Pastor of the First Christian Church in Okeene tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 p.m. A van will leave Central at 12:45 p.m. There is room for a few more if you want to go.
Our youth are hosting a Regional Lock-in next Friday and Saturday. If you would like to help with pop, snacks or breakfast items, call John Wheeler and see what he needs.
I received another email from Scott Chuda:
Good morning,
Attached is a video link one of my class mates from our time at the carrier.

You can hear me on the radio a couple of times. If you hear 265 or Echo18 that’s me.
The carrier was a blast and can't wait to land on it again. Enjoy
Hope you are doing well,

The video is 6 minutes long. It is fascinating.
There will be a benefit fundraiser for Tyler Zander and Bryce Gannon at the Oakwood activity center two weeks from today, August 27. Watch for future announcements. Please continue to lift them up in your prayers.
The scripture for today is Romans 16:25-27:
Now to God who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but is now disclosed, and through the prophetic writings is made known to all the Gentiles, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith—to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever! Amen.
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
