O Loving God,
We talk of forgiveness, yet, often, our actions betray our words. It is hard to forgive others when we have been hurt, offended, accosted or ignored. We say to ourselves that we forgive, but it is so difficult. We are reminded of the father looking down the road, hoping to see his prodigal son return. One day he sees him and the father runs to embrace him, even though the son has violated religious and family codes. The father goes out to him and also to the resentful older brother, forgiving them both. We know, Loving God, that this is a story told by Jesus that is about You. The first hearers would think the father foolish, but it is Your foolish love and forgiveness that sustains us and we give You thanks. May we embody that spirit as we deal with those around us. In Jesus name we pray. AMEN.

John Wheeler and I delivered fans yesterday to the Salvation Army. The total to date is 105 fans and more money is still coming in. Thank you for your wonderful generosity. We will continue receiving money for a while longer and convert the dollars to fans as soon as we can. We also had a nice article in the Enid News and Eagle yesterday.
The scripture for today is Romans 13:8-10:
Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; You shall not murder; You shall not steal; You shall not covet”; and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, “Love your neighbor as yourself.”Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law.
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
