Prayer for Today, Thursday, September 15

Love Divine,

We seek a community where truth and love abound, where there is honesty and acceptance, where we are nurtured, cared for, and empowered to serve You by serving others. We long for a relationship with You that is fostered and enhanced by our connection to our brothers and sisters in Christ. We desire a connection to the past, the present and the future in our worship and in our studies. We yearn for the true church of Jesus Christ our Lord. May we be and become that church. In Jesus' name we pray. AMEN.

I received the following email from Eilene Crites:

John,  my dad Marion Batterman went to Bass by ambulance today Wed. around 3:30,  with severe chest pains.  Tests have been run & more to come tomorrow AM.  So far no conclusion, but he is resting easier  and no pain.  He is in room 222.  Please keep he & mom in your prayers.  Thanks. Eilene

I received the following email from Fig Newton:

John, My sister, June Fowler is in ICU in Vista Calif.   She has been ill off an on for some time now and I fear that this is the beginning of the end for her.  She will be placed in an assisted living environment in the hopes of getting her able to assist in the care for herself again.  If that fails she will be placed in a total nursing care home.  She needs all of our prayers as she is not doing well at all.

Please pray for Marion and June.

Please pray for Terry Jones. The tumor in his brain is malignant  and the one in his lung is likely malignant. He is going to have more tests to determine the best curse of action.

Gene Mason has moved out of ICU to the 4th floor. Merle Phillips is recovering at home. Tim McAnally is having surgery this morning at Bass. Ruby Manahan is now on the 5th floor at St. Mary's. Please pray for these four members.

The bus will leave for the NW Area Men's Meeting at Carmen at 5:15 p.m. today.

The scripture for today is Jude 1:14-16:

It was also about these that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, "See, the Lord is coming with ten thousands of his holy ones, ¹⁵to execute judgment on all, and to convict everyone of all the deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him." ¹⁶These are grumblers and malcontents; they indulge their own lusts; they are bombastic in speech, flattering people to their own advantage.
