O Faithful God,
Scripture invites us to pray regularly. Jesus modeled prayer by giving us the Lord’s Prayer and also by often going off by himself to pray. May we be drawn to You, O God, through our systematic and routine prayers. Please forgive us when our prayers are only requests and are motivated by immediate necessity. We seek to commune with You, O Lord, in words and in silence. May our devotional and prayer life become a part of our daily rhythm and the foundation of our life with You. This we pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
Birdene Schoonover was exceptionally weak yesterday during the day yesterday. Her daughter postponed returning to Tulsa, but then called me yesterday evening to say that Birdene had shown dramatic improvement in the early evening hours. Please continue to pray for Birdene.
Tammy Hromas sent me the following email:
“John, my cousin, Jessica Ingram just lost her son, Casey, to muscular dystrophy. Please ask people to pray for her. Thank you, Tammy Hromas”
May we all offer prayers for Casey’s family.
Laura Berkenbile sent the following email yesterday evening:
“John, I don't think it is anything serious, but if you could add my mom (Karen) to the prayer list it would be appreciated. My dad brought her to the hospital yesterday evening with chest pains. She didn't have a heart attack but was in a-fibrillation (or whatever it is called afib). They got her heart rate stabilized & finally in a room around 1:30 this morning. I think she will be in here for a couple days so they can monitor everything. She is at St. Mary's in room 491. Thank you, Laura Berkenbile”
Please pray for Laura’s mother.

Tomorrow is World Communion Sunday, the Horn of Plenty food drive, and the first session of “Does God Exist?”
Today’s scripture is 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5:
Finally, brothers and sisters, pray for us, so that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified everywhere, just as it is among you, and that we may be rescued from wicked and evil people; for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one. And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you are doing and will go on doing the things that we command. May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
