O Lord of Life,
On this cold morning we give You thanks for the bounty of creation and that portion with which we have been entrusted. We thank You for shelter, warmth, adequate nourishment and people who care for us. In a country of abundance may we see the needs of others who are lacking. May we see the faceless, nameless people who are struggling to obtain those necessities we take for granted. Jesus came to teach us how to live. He taught us to care for the needy and marginalized, to open our doors to those who have had doors slammed in their faces. May we be courageous, O Lord. May our gift giving this holiday season be a sharing of love with our families and a sharing of our bounty with those less fortunate. This is our prayer in jesus' name. AMEN.

Sorry about the late delivery of this email. I am catching the "cold" that seems to be going around and it has slowed me down.
I received word this morning that two of our saints died. Wayne Daniels died early this morning. Birdene Schoonover died around 8:00 a.m. Please pray for their families. Funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as we know something.
Tomorrow is the Children's Christmas Program at 6:00 p.m. with an international tasting party afterwards. Please plan to attend to support our children and to enjoy wonderful fellowship.
The scripture for today is Job 29:1-15:
Job again took up his discourse and said: 2“Oh, that I were as in the months of old, as in the days when God watched over me; 3when his lamp shone over my head, and by his light I walked through darkness; 4when I was in my prime, when the friendship of God was upon my tent; 5when the Almighty was still with me, when my children were around me; 6when my steps were washed with milk, and the rock poured out for me streams of oil!
7When I went out to the gate of the city, when I took my seat in the square, 8the young men saw me and withdrew, and the aged rose up and stood; 9the nobles refrained from talking, and laid their hands on their mouths; 10the voices of princes were hushed, and their tongues stuck to the roof of their mouths. 11When the ear heard, it commended me, and when the eye saw, it approved; 12because I delivered the poor who cried, and the orphan who had no helper. 13The blessing of the wretched came upon me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. 14I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban. 15I was eyes to the blind, and feet to the lame.
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
