Intruding God,
We think our lives are going well, and then You surprise us with Your presence, challenging our priorities, our values, our service to others. Life would be so simple, God, if You would just let us come to church on Sundays, pray our prayers, sing our songs, and then go back to our routine, but You intrude. You turn everything upside down. You ask for our faithfulness and You desire that we trust in You. You call us out of our comfort and complacency. It is hard to be a true Christian, God. The message of Christmas is that You are with us. As we look at the life, ministry and sacrifice of Jesus our Lord, maybe we can try harder to be what You want us to be. We will try harder, O Lord. Amen.
