God our Heart’s Delight,
Sometimes we awake with energy, enthusiasm for the day, and optimism about life. Other times we are tired when we arise. The day seems to hold drudgery and our perspective is pessimistic. Help us to realize, Loving God, that You are there, regardless of our outlook. Your everlasting arms sustain us and we are encouraged by the promises of the faith, particularly Jesus’ promise of abundant life. Forgive us when we measure the quality of our life by days. May we see Your presence with us as we reflect over previous weeks, months and years. May we experience Your hope in our past, present and future. This we pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Today is January 6th, Epiphany. We reflect on the manifestation of Christ to the gentiles in the persons of the Magi. It is also the day some segments of Christianity celebrate the baptism of Jesus. The season of Christmas is now over and we enter the liturgical season of Epiphany.
Carolyn and I saw Bertie Krausse yesterday evening at the Heart Hospital in OKC. She is doing remarkably well, but doesn’t know when she will be dismissed to come home.
Don Johnson is doing the funeral for Jerry Vater today and our ladies are providing a meal for the family. There is no church connection, but there are some close friendships within our congregation.
Yesterday was a long day for the McLemore’s, but a very productive one. I am know OFFICIALLY on the drug trial, taking 6 pills a day and keeping a log. I will go back to Baylor in 2 weeks, in 4 weeks, once a month for 7 months, and every 3 months after that. If I am not getting the actual drug, the oncologist said we would know fairly quickly and we will move on to something else. Naturally we hope this is the real thing. Your prayers continue to sustain us and we are very positive and optimistic.
The scripture for yesterday was Proverbs_13:1-15
The scripture for today is Proverbs_15:1-17
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
