Prayer for Today, Monday, January 23

Sustaining God,

So often, O Lord,  our actions have unintended consequences. We want to do the right thing. We seek to do the right thing, but many times we don't think through what we are doing. Forgive our shortsightedness, we pray. Give us the strength, loving God, to meet the challenges of each day. Give us the wisdom, Hopeful Presence, to see beyond the immediate situation. May we strive for that time when love and peace prevail and when we have a clear understanding of your claim on our lives. May Your forgiveness abound in our midst as we forgive others. In Jesus name we pray. AMEN.

Leadership Training School is February 4 at First Christian Church in Oklahoma City. A schedule of classes can be picked up at the Welcome Center. There are some great classes. I would really like for a number of our members, particularly Elders, to attend.

Be sure to pick up your copy of the Central Christian Church 2011 in Review. This is also available at the Welcome Center.

Audio versions of all three of the sermons in the “Talking Faith” sermon series are available at our website, www.centralenid.org . The link is on the left side of the homepage. A printed transcript of the second sermon, “Talking Faith: How Do We Know God?” Is also available at the Welcome Center.
