God of Forgiveness and Understanding,
We desire to be understood by others, O Lord. So often our complaint is that others don’t know who we truly are and we feel isolated. May we realize, Loving God, that it is in loving, we are loved. It is in forgiving that we are forgiven, and it is in seeking to understand others that we are understood. Forgive our foolish and self-centered ways, we pray. May our focus in 2012 be on the needs of others. May we always be those who are reaching out, just as You are always reaching out, forgiving and understanding us. In Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN.

Bertie Krausse was at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital yesterday, prepared to have surgery, when she was told there was a change and her surgery would be today. Carolyn and I were there as well. So, Bertie is having her heart by-pass procedure at 8:00 a.m. this morning. Please pray for Bertie and Ed. He is to call me when the surgery is over.
Gary Hula is continuing to improve, but it will be a long process. Please continue to pray for Gary.
There will be a meeting of the Convergent Service Task Group of the Worship Committee tonight in Room 109 at 7pm.
The World Outreach Committee will meet tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5:30 p.m. in the Conference Room.

I have a single parent who approached me with a need. Her hot water tank busted over the weekend. I wasn't sure if maybe you could forward this out. This is a legitimate need. Need: hot water tank (gas). She will need plumbing help, and the hot water tank. Estimate for installation: $400. Hot water tank $375. Single parent mother of 4 kids. I am always concerned when there are children involved. This mother has no connection to our church, but this is a legitimate need. If you would like to help, please call Jan with the amount and bring your check by the church. If you have plumbing skills and are willing to help, please let me know.
Don’t forget your assignment. Write two paragraphs answering these questions, “Why am I a Christian?” and “Why am I a member of Central Christian Church?”
