Prayer for Today, Thursday, February 9

Empowering God,

We open ourselves to you this day, O Lord, seeking to align our hearts with your heart. The journey of faith is not easy. It requires commitment and discipline. It is so easy for us to think of You when it is convenient and our busy schedule allows it. Please forgive us, Loving God. May our faithfulness be expressed, not as a matter of utility, but of priority and devotion. Empower us through the presence of your Spirit, O God, to be disciplined in our prayer, our study, and our service to others. It is in Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN

Please pray for Jim and Peggy Goodrich. Peggy fell during the holidays and cracked her pelvis. Jim fell and twisted his knee. They are staying home until they have recuperated.

Please pray for Betty Maxwell. She has a bone spur on her foot that is causing great difficulty.

Please pray for our church. May we be empowered to welcome the Holy Spirit in our midst and to invite others to share the profound experiences of faith.

Tomorrow evening (Friday) our Christian Action and Community Service Committee and the Civitan Club will be hosting a Valentine Dance for the developmentally disabled. They are in need of more 2 liter bottles of pop and more cookies. If you are able, please bring some of these items to the church and placed them in the kitchen.
