Sustaining God,
Our hope is built on your revelation to us through Jesus Christ our Lord. Our faith is sustained as we accept Your grace . Our actions are empowered by the presence of Your Loving Spirit. Please forgive us, O Lord, when we turn our back on Jesus; when we are faithless; and when our actions are self-serving. You have created us to be more than we are. May we open our hearts to you and live lives of hope, faithfulness, and good works. It is in Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN.

I received the following e-mail from University Christian church in Austin Texas regarding memorial services for Bill Howland:
“A memorial service for Rev. Bill Howland will be held at University Christian Church on Saturday, April 7 at 2:00 pm. There will be a reception following in the Fellowship Hall. An inurnment service will be held in May at National City Christian Church in Washington, D. C., when Dr. Howland is inurned in the columbarium. We do not yet know the date of the service in May.”
Please continue to pray for his family and friends.
There was some confusion about the date of Beryl Bigger’s funeral. It WILL be two weeks from today on March 24 at 11 AM in our sanctuary.
Yesterday, eight of our men went to Central Christian Camp for the Regional Men's Retreat. We had two additional who wanted to attend but the hour of our departure, unfortunately, excluded them. We enjoyed a great supper, a wonderful keynote address by our own Brian Meyer, an amazing presentation by a potter, and closing worship with communion. Everyone who attended expressed appreciation for the event.
On a similar note: next Thursday the Northwest Area Disciples Men will meet in Hennessy. The buses will leave the church around 5:30 PM. Call Kandy at 233-1214 by Tuesday noon to reserve your spot.
Beginning tomorrow we will have extra greeters in the loggia before Sunday School and 10:15 AM church. There is a sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center if you want to be added to the list. Also, check out the new banners in the loggia!
Tomorrow at 5 PM the CACS committee is feeding supper to a group of college students who are here to work with Habitat for Humanity. They will meet in the multipurpose room.
Tomorrow, also at 5 PM, we will have our last “Listening Conference" about the future of the Revive & Renew Service in the fellowship hall. Join us to record your questions and brief statements.
