Comforting God,
Jesus tells us we are to take up our crosses and follow him. Frankly, O Lord, the prospect of bearing our own cross is not very appealing. We have diminished Jesus’ message by preaching and teaching the “easy path.” Please forgive us, O God. Much is required from us and we choose to give only a little. As we reflect on Jesus journey toward Jerusalem and the cross, may we respond to his mandate to "follow him", even when the way leads to suffering. In Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN

Randy Conrady died late yesterday morning. His funeral will likely be on Wednesday. Please pray for Connie and Leo, his brothers and sisters, and his children.
Laura Deatherage will have knee replacement surgery tomorrow at St. Mary's hospital. Please remember Laura in your prayers.
GREETERS NEEDED! If you would like to help as a supplemental greeter from now until Easter morning then join me at the Welcome Center at 9 AM or at 11:30 AM today for a brief training. We are encouraging guests to join us as a result of member invitations and a postal campaign throughout the neighborhood. Please help us greet these new visitors.
There will be a Listening Conference this afternoon at 5 PM in the fellowship Hall. All are invited for this 45 to 50 minute session. We will be recording brief statements and questions regarding our Revive & Renew service, its leadership, and its place in the Sunday morning schedule. The Pastors’ Cabinet and the Elders have already gone through this process. All of the questions and statements will be reviewed by a task group, presented to the worship committee, and then, if action is required, taken to the board. Please come to make your statements and ask your questions.
