Eternal Mystery,
Your Son, Jesus the Christ, gives us a glimpse of Your unending grace. As we move toward Palm Sunday, may our spirits and hearts be open to You. Likely we would have been with the ones waving palm branches celebrating his entry into Jerusalem. Likely we would also have been among those who understood his ‘kingship” as it was characterized by earthly power and might. He was a miracle worker. He was a faith healer. He was a doer of “signs”, yet they, and often we, saw only those things. May Your abiding Presence be made known to us, in part, as it was fully made known in Him. May your love for the world live in us, in part, as it was fully made manifest in Him. May the power and majesty of Christ’s “kingship” be understood as it was revealed in His vulnerability and forgiving spirit. Your eternal grace, as it was and is present in the Christ, evokes a power beyond our wildest imaginings. We give You thanks and offer this prayer in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Jeremiah 31
10Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, and declare it in the coastlands far away; say, “He who scattered Israel will gather him, and will keep him as a shepherd a flock.” 11For the Lord has ransomed Jacob, and has redeemed him from hands too strong for him. 12They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Zion, and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the Lord, over the grain, the wine, and the oil, and over the young of the flock and the herd; their life shall become like a watered garden, and they shall never languish again. 13Then shall the young women rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy, I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow.
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
