God of Tender Mercies,
Sometimes the world seems so harsh. There is death as the result of suicide bombers, domestic violence, uncompromising political tirades, too many examples of “us versus them”, and on and on. Today, O Lord, we seek tenderness. May we see the beauty of Your creation in a flower, in the gently waving wheat, in the movement of a butterfly, and in the soothing cooing of a new born baby. Please forgive us, Loving God, when we are hardened and embittered because we only see the brutality of life. There are examples of Your tender mercies all around us which sooth our spirits. May we open our eyes to see and our hearts to experience. This is our prayer in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
