Prayer for Today, Wednesday, October 10

Most Holy God,

Today we pray for those with broken hearts. Circumstances in life sometimes lead to painful encounters that cause  hurt, suffering, grief, anger, and sorrow. May Your spirit of peace and reconciliation prevail, O Lord. May we recognize our culpability, even when we feel we are among the wounded. Please foster a spirit of healing and hope within those who are broken. This is our prayer in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Sophia Farmer has been moved back to room 212 at Bass Hospital. Jim Goodness is still in the Bass Pavilion. Please continue to pray for Sophia and Jim.

Kids Central closes on Friday. The close down process is going well. Please continue to pray for the parents, teachers, and board members who are working through this transition.

Please join us for a special WWNF tonight to recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We will have dinner at 5:15 p.m. and the YWCA will give a short presentation at 6 p.m. Please remember to bring pillows, sheet sets, full size towels, Kleenex, and baggies to donate to the YWCA Crisis Center. (note: pillows, sheet sets, and towels do not have to be new. Look in your linen closets and see what you can donate) There will be a table in Fellowship Hall for donations. Please help as these items are in crucial need.

Following the YWCA presentation, Kayte Anton will be presenting "Picture Domestic Violence"  - the story of her family. Chapel and Bible Study will not meet in order for us to focus on what our church can do to help the YWCA, its mission, and understand our role as a church in ending domestic violence. Please join us and invite friends to what should be an enlightening experience.
