Prayer for Today, Friday, March 21

Lord of All Creation,

Today we are filled with joy. Your Spirit is moving among us and we see You at work in the lives of the children, youth and adults at our church. We also see You at work in the world and we know You invite us to participate in Your work. Touch our hearts, O God. May our lives be a witness to Your love and grace. May our hearts be warm, open and receptive to You and to those we meet. For it is in Jesus name we pray, AMEN

JOYS AND CONCERNS

This Sunday, March 23, we are having a Fellowship Luncheon at 11:30. This is a great time to enjoy food and share fellowship. Plan to attend. Everything is provided. This is NOT pot-luck.

There is a NW Area Assembly on Sunday, March 30, at Central Christian Church in Fairview. The theme is “Growing in Grace”. Dr. Dennis Smith and Dr. Lisa Davison, both from Phillips Theological Seminary, will be offering workshops. There will be a meal and worship. The assembly begins at 3:00 P.M. and concludes at 6:30 P.M. Our youth group will be attending and I hope a number of adults will attend as well. We will take both busses and cars. There is no cost. Sunday morning there will be a “sign-up” sheet at the Welcome Center. Please sign up. We have to call our numbers in by Sunday afternoon.

Gene Woelke died Tuesday evening. His service will be Saturday, March 29, at 10:00 A.M. in the Henninger-Hinson chapel.

Jim Goodrich is still in Bass Hospital.

Liz Beaty is now doing chemotherapy once a week on Thursdays.

Jean Long’s 22 year old great-grandson, Garret Hamm, is in OU Medical Center in OKC and on life support.

We have been asked to pray for Jill Muegee. She is extremely ill. She has been moved back to her home with family and friends providing 24 hour care.

Thom Bushman’s father is being moved to a skilled nursing facility in California to complete his treatments. He should be there for a couple of weeks.

Deloras Oringderff is having a difficult time.

Kay Allison’s parents are both dealing with health issues.

Gene and Naomi Burkett need lots of love and support.

Court Loomis is in a lot of pain and had a surgical procedure yesterday.

After tests here, Jaymie Morley, principal at Chisholm High School went back to M.D. Anderson in Houston. Tests there indicated her lymphoma has not recurred. She does, however,  have some places in her legs that will require surgery.

Please pray for these family and friends.

John Wheeler, Conner Angleton, and Taylor Foster are on the International Affairs Seminar. Please pray they have a fun and positive experience. They will return tomorrow.

Please pray for our Spring Break travelers.

Lenten Morning Prayers are continuing in the chapel every morning (except Sundays) at 7:00 A.M. All are welcome.

I am doing a series of Pastor’s class beginning March 29. We will meet in the conference room from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. for four Saturdays. If you have a child or grandchild who would like to attend, please call the church office or email me at johnm@centralenid.org. We will do baptisms on Easter.

PSALM FOR TODAY

Psalm 105

16When he summoned famine against the land, and broke every staff of bread,

17he had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.

18His feet were hurt with fetters, his neck was put in a collar of iron;

19until what he had said came to pass, the word of the Lord kept testing him.

20The king sent and released him; the ruler of the peoples set him free.

21He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possessions,

Grace and peace,

John McLemore
