God of Tender Mercies,
As the season of Lent reaches the half-way mark, we reflect on the journey thus far. We have attempted to set aside those occurrences in our lives that separate us from You. We have been aware of our sin and need for forgiveness. We remember again Jesus movement toward Jerusalem and the cross. For some of us this has been a profound spiritual experience, for others a perfunctory exercise. We pray Your grace will abound for us all, O Lord. May we connect with You and commune with You. In the midst of our unworthiness, You are there. We give You thanks and we pray for courage and strength to continue our journey with Jesus. It is in His name we pray. AMEN.

PSALM FOR TODAY
Psalm 95
1O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
2Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
6O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
7For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. O that today you would listen to his voice!
8Do not harden your hearts, as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,
9when your ancestors tested me, and put me to the proof, though they had seen my work.
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
