Prayer for Today, Saturday, May 17

O God our God,

We awaken to the beauty of Your creation all about us. Our morning prayer is, "Thank You". Today is a day filled with promise and hope. We celebrate our graduating seniors. Please pour out Your Spirit on them as they ponder the next part of their journey. We thank you for the approaching summer and opportunities for play and leisure. Help us to pause and make time for Sabbath, where our schedules are free and we can rest in the glory of Your Presence. All this we ask in Jesus name, AMEN.

Jerry Long is going to have knee replacement surgery in OKC on Friday.

Rev. Allen Nagel’s (UMC Methodist minister in Lamont) 30 year old son, Jason, lives in Denver and was the victim of the new trend of young males randomly hitting people in the head and knocking them to the ground. Jason had to have serious brain surgery and was placed in an induced coma.

Please pray for these family and friends.

PSALM FOR TODAY

Psalm 98

1O sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things. His right hand and his holy arm have gotten him victory.

2The Lord has made known his victory; he has revealed his vindication in the sight of the nations.

3He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.

4Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises.

Grace and peace,

John McLemore
