Prayer for Today, Thursday, August 8

O Lord Our Lord,

Life is filled with beauty and we stand in awe. The majesty of creation: the mountains and streams, the fields and woods, the star filled skies, all invite us into an attitude of praise and thanksgiving. The wonder in a child’s face, the hope of parenthood, the dreams of youth, and the wisdom of the elderly also invite us to celebrate the works of Your hands. While You are a great mystery, we experience You in all that is. Thank You, O Lord, for eyes to see, minds to interpret, and hearts to love. In Jesus’ name we pray, AMEN.

Pat Maphet’s brother, Bob Grayson, passed away. His funeral is today.

 

Phyllis Phillips is now at home.

A great amount of enthusiasm for local outreach was generated by  Mission Enid. As a result we are going to have a Mission Sunday on every 5^th Sunday where volunteers can work on projects in the community or “sit down” projects in the church. Watch the Church Visitor for more details.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

 

This Sunday we will have congregational meetings to elect two Special Gifts trustees for three year terms. They are Curt Horrall and Tina Swanson.

 

Next Wednesday, August 13^th,we will have a cabinet meeting with all the Board officers, Fellowship Group leaders, and Committee Chairs present.
