Prayer for Today, Sunday, July 7

Most Holy God,

Sometimes we are taught, sometimes we believe that we are unworthy; that there is a flaw within us. Early Christian teaching and preaching in this country emphasized our shortcomings and sinfulness. While we are incomplete. While we are lacking, today we focus on Your love and grace that makes us whole. We cannot make ourselves worthy. You make us worthy. You fill us and we are overwhelmed. The old stories play frequently in our minds. Please forgive us, Loving God, for failing to understand and accept Your free gift of grace. We give You thanks and praise. May we honor You by living lives filled with love and hope. This is our prayer in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

_______

Don Coulter has been in St. Mary’s since Tuesday evening. He was recently moved to ICU 350 with double pneumonia and kidney issues. His daughter and her family are here from Texas. Please pray for Don and Norma.

Destiny Turner and Juliet Case’s grandfather, Bill Case recently passed away. Please pray for these girls and all of Bill’s family.

There will be brief congregational meetings today during all three morning services to elect deacons, elders, and special gifts trustees.

Looking ahead: There will be a deacons meeting next Sunday, July 14, in the sanctuary immediately after the 10:15 services.

Looking farther ahead: We will be hosting the NW Area Men on Thursday, July 18, at 6:30. This is a “pick up” for us since we also do this in November as well. All Central men will want to attend and help host the event.

REGULAR SUNDAY SCHEDULE TODAY

Grace and peace,

John McLemore
