Prayer for Today, Friday, July 25

Most Gracious God,

The Lord’s Prayer, from the lips of Jesus, prays that Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Jesus’ words in the Gospel of John tell us that You love the world. The Book of Revelation suggests Your kingdom will reside in our midst. Draw us in, Divine Presence, to Your eternal embrace. Draw us in, O Lord, to Your present and future work in the world. May our focus be on ushering Your Reign into the present day and into our present culture as we care for the poor, proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind. May Your will be done. We pray in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

It's time for Vacation Bible School.

VBS begins Sunday with a meal at 5:00 P.M.

Carolynne Blankenship has been diagnosed with a brain rumor. She is home.

Fig Newton is recovering at home from an outpatient procedure.

Liz and Kent Beaty need our prayers

Tammy Hromas has asked for prayers for her dad, John Ingram’s brother-in-law, Larry Jones. He has been given three months to live. Larry’s wife is Nancy. They lost a son five years ago.

Remember the families of Cyrilla Mettee, Connie Keogel, and Dorothy Henthorn.

Please continue to lift up Joyce McCoy, Wayne Galer, Judy Parks, and Karen White.

Wayne Gayler has been dismissed and is at home.

I completed my third chemotherapy session yesterday. So far so good.

Please pray for our family members and friends.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS:

We will not have a Board Meeting in July. On August 13th we will have a cabinet meeting with all the Board, Fellowship Group, and Committee Chairs present. We will then have a Board Meeting on August 20th. This means we will have Board meetings in August and September, then we will be back to a regular schedule.

Some of our committees are fully staffed. We still need volunteers for World Outreach, Membership, Education, and Evangelism. I would really like to have at least 10 members for each committee. If you are interested in any of the above, please email me or call Kandy.

Grace and peace,

John McLemore
