Loving God,
Today we remember those on whose shoulders we figuratively stand. We reflect on family members and friends who are no longer with us. We honor those military men and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. We know some of the names and there are untold numbers whose names have never crossed our lips, yet we are indebted to them. Thank you, O God, for those who have impacted our lives. May our words and deeds continue their legacy. In Jesus’ name we pray. AMEN.

Sharon Watkins, our General Minister and President, and others from the General Church, will meet on Tuesday at the First Christian Church in Norman to discuss plans for assistance to those communities so impacted by last week’s storms. I am sure they will be discuss establishing a mission station for immediate and long term responses. I cannot attend because I will be participating in the funeral of a long time friend, but Don Johnson will be there. Please pray for this group as they begin to map out a strategy. ALSO remember to bring your gift today to Week of Compassion. Make the check to the church and note in the memo line for Week of Compassion – storms, or something to that effect. Grant check have already been and will continue to be distributed.
Please pray for Terry Novak. He had surgery yesterday to repair a stomach ulcer that was bleeding.
Please pray for Lynn Angleton. He is recovering at home from triple bypass surgery a week ago.
Pray for our travelers.
Please pray for the family of Alvin Rogers, a family friend who died Friday. His funeral will be on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in OKC.
CONGRATULATIONS and thank you to all those who helped make yesterday’s lunch for the Heartland Hawks a great success. We had plenty of food and a good representation from the church. The ballplayers were very appreciative.
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
