Prodding God,
You sometimes come to us in strange and challenging ways. You push us out of our comfortability and call us to go into unfamiliar places. You invite us to move beyond the status quo and to embrace new forms of mission and ministry. We thank You for the blessings of the Christian faith and the opportunities to gather within the family of the Body of Christ. Please forgive us, however, when we forget that we are not only gathered in Christ’s name, but we are also sent in Christ’s name to speak truth to power and challenge the assumptions of the dominant culture. Give us strength, we pray, for the ministries that are before us. This is our prayer in Jesus’ name. AMEN.
