Gracious God,
We pray for peace, in our hearts, in our families, in our neighborhoods, in our congress, and in our world. There are so many challenges in life where violence and retribution seem to be the standard responses. There are so many circumstances when words can be nearly as devastating as swords. Please forgive our penchant for aggression rather than peacefulness. Empower us, O Lord, to be peacemakers, to find common ground and common solutions. This is our prayer in the name of the peacemaker, Jesus. AMEN.

Please continue to pray for Roy Smith as he recovers from heart surgery.
Please pray for Ken Slack. Ken fell and broke two ribs. He is recovering at his home.
My face is healing. It will be another day or two before I will go out in public. It really isn’t too bad. I am just taking this opportunity to rest at home.
Check the bulletin or Visitor for today’s schedule at the church.
Grace and peace,
John McLemore
